The Craft Behind Wajd
In every old bazaar of the subcontinent, the rangrez was the dyer — the craftsman whose vats of indigo, madder and marigold turned plain cotton into celebration. A wedding shawl, an Eid kurta, a bride’s dupatta: colour passed through his hands first.
Wajd carries his spirit — we work the same way he did — small batches, honest fabric, colours fixed properly so they don’t fade in the second wash. Eastern silhouettes our grandmothers would recognise, western cuts our generation lives in — one dye-house spirit.
